#VSEFI2026 provides a platform for researchers, academics, doctoral students, and practitioners to present their research findings and discuss current and challenging issues in innovation, entrepreneurship, and finance. This symposium is an excellent opportunity for Vietnamese scholars to exchange research experiences and develop research projects with international colleagues.
Our symposium features special sessions and round tables with participation from invited speakers from academia, industry, and government agencies. Lin William Cong (叢林)
President’s Chair Professor of Finance, Computing and Data Science, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore
Lin William Cong is President’s Chair Professor of Finance, Computing and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), with joint appointments as Associate Dean and Professor at Nanyang Business School and Professor at the College of Computing and Data Science. He is on leave from Cornell University, where he holds the Rudd Family Endowed Professorship of Management and Finance. He is a Senior Fellow and Program Director at the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), and a Research Fellow at CEPR.
Professor Cong serves as Editor at Management Science and on the editorial boards of several leading journals, and is affiliated with initiatives such as IC3. His research spans financial economics, information economics, AI, FinTech, digital markets, blockchain, and entrepreneurship, with pioneering contributions to tokenomics, AI for finance and social science, digital asset markets, and FinTech regulation. He is one of the world’s most published and cited FinTech researchers, with extensive recognition through major awards, competitive grants, and media coverage. Professor Cong earned his PhD in Finance and MS in Statistics from Stanford University and holds dual degrees from Harvard University, and he is a frequent advisor to global financial institutions, technology firms, regulators, and policymakers.

Reinhilde Veugelers
Full Professor of Management, Strategy and Innovation, KU Leuven, Belgium
Reinhilde Veugelers is a Full Professor of Management, Strategy and Innovation at KU Leuven (Belgium). She is a Senior Fellow at Bruegel and a Senior Non-Resident Fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, as well as a Research Fellow at CEPR and a member of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Sciences and the Academia Europaea. From 2004 to 2008, she served as an advisor at the European Commission (BEPA – Bureau of European Policy Analysis). She was President of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) from 2007 to 2009 and later served on the ERC Scientific Council (2012–2018) and the EU-RISE Expert Group advising the EU Commissioner for Research.
She is currently a Co-Principal Investigator of the Science of Science Funding Initiative at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), a member of the Science Board of Research Policy journal, and was a member of the Board of Reviewing Editors of the journal Science. Her research focuses on industrial organization, international economics and strategy, and innovation and science, with recent work on novelty in science and technology, global innovation value chains, young innovative firms, climate-related innovation, and the evaluation of research and innovation policies.

🔹 Early-Stage Research Session (PhD Students Only)
VSEFI 2026 includes a dedicated session for PhD students to present early-stage research and receive feedback from senior academics and peers.
Eligibility This session is open to current PhD or MPhil students at any stage of their candidature.
Purpose
The session is designed for presenting early-stage research ideas or work-in-progress and receiving feedback from the academic community.
Submission Requirements To be considered for this session, authors must:
Select “Early-Stage Research Session (PhD Students Only)” in the submission system under Type
Submit an early-stage research paper or proposal
Upload a signed letter from their supervisor or Head of Department confirming their current PhD/MPhil status
The letter must be uploaded under the “Supplementary data” section during submission.
Important Both the paper/proposal and the confirmation letter must be submitted by the submission deadline. Submissions without the required letter will not be considered for this session.

A paper refers to a fully developed manuscript on a scholarly topic. We do not impose any style requirements. If needed, one can refer, for example, toAuthor Guidelines.
